To engage individuals with God's love. We exist to build relationships, help individuals experience healing, restoration, and removal of shame from the result of a broken past.
The following scripture and video captures the heart of Mephibosheth:
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to shelter the poor wanderer, when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your flesh and blood?
Mephibosheth engages people unconditionally amid crisis, offering compassion, food, and personal assistance. We are in the process of building short term faith-based programs with the hopes of recovery.
The future hope and purpose of Mephibosheth is to secure a remote safe haven away from access to drugs, alcohol, and past influences contrary to healing offering discipleship and mentoring for individuals that have made a commitment to leave the life of drug use and other forms of self-abuse behind while networking with local resources for the reintegration of lost family, jobs and community.
We are a faith-based ministry powered entirely by volunteers who exist through leading of the Holy Spirit, community networking and charity.
We are Mephibosheth
About a year ago Todd Mock with Mephibosheth was jogging along the Columbia River when he heard Jesus say “GO”, moving toward a pile of big rocks under The Dalles bridge, there he saw smoke from a warming fire and things strewn about. He ran off to buy a sandwich and came back to the bridge, saying to the pile of rocks: “I was sent from the Lord. I’ve gota sandwich for you.” And then, he recounted, “These little hands come out, and they’re just black from ash and dirt.” That first encounter with a longtime homeless man began the work and ministry of Jesus locally with the transient population.
Over 24 years he’s served in several ministries for the homeless, prison and inner cities including Seattle and Chicago and was the creator of the graphic style for the Children's video series, “VeggieTales”. It is his deep desire is that everyone would know and experience the depth of God's mercy and love.
